About This Opportunity  

Are you a self-driven and experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst looking for a new challenge? Look no further! We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and support the enhancement of UQ’s core student enterprise systems (SI-net).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your strong analytical and stakeholder management skills as you undertake business analysis activities to identify, define, and convert business requirements into strategic system designs. You will work with large ERP systems, considering the wider enterprise applications portfolio, and play a key role in supporting and mentoring other team members.

Key responsibilities will include:  

  • Promote cyber security practices in compliance with UQ’s policies and standards.
  • Analyse business processes, identify opportunities, and recommend solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into system specifications.
  • Prepare compelling business cases for new processes and changes.
  • Collaborate on high-level design documentation for applications and data.
  • Manage IT projects, ensuring adherence to policies and driving change management.

Additional responsibilities include resolving customer issues, driving continuous improvement, providing senior technical support and mentoring, and supporting testing and change management activities.

There are 2 positions available, 1 x full-time (100%), continuing (permanent) position and 1 x full time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months.  

At HEW level 8, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $105,338 – $118,280 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $123,245 – $138,388 annually.  

About You   

  • Postgraduate degree in IT, business, or related field, or significant progress towards such qualifications, along with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and training.
  • Significant experience in business analysis and requirements gathering across ERP platforms, collaborating effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analysis, produce solution designs, and prioritise delivery, aligned with service delivery expectations.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to conceptualise, establish, and implement new initiatives and innovative solutions within specified frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to design IT solutions within a large ERP platform, encompassing business process modelling, and data and systems documentation following industry standards.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment and familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to create clear and precise user and technical specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective mentoring and technical leadership abilities, along with adept communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to evaluate and provide recommendations on emerging technologies, research, methodologies, and best practices, and develop and deliver services that leverage best practices and suitable technology to meet the University’s business requirements.
  • Capacity to prioritise workload, work autonomously, and meet deadlines effectively.
