As the Engagement & Communications Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing communications and engagement strategies for the Infrastructure and Facilities Services (IFS) unit.

You will aim to enhance the understanding and awareness of IFS and its associated activities, as well as foster positive attitudes among all relevant stakeholders. By ensuring clear and consistent messaging, you will establish a strong reputation for IFS, and promote a greater sense of engagement and involvement with stakeholders.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate IFS internal and external communications.
  • Provide specialist advice on communication needs across a range of projects, initiatives, programs, and events.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and review of communications and stakeholder management plans.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

  • Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating, and implementing successful communication strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to build trust with senior executives and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to mange multiple projects and work to competing deadlines.

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $91,259 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  1. A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or similar with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. Specialist communications skills demonstrated in the development, coordinating, implementation and evaluation of communication strategies and initiatives.
  3. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
  4. Excellent organisational skills including the ability to work in a high-volume environment and manage multiple projects and prioritise workflows with limited supervision.
  5. A strong track record of writing effective, engaging and creative content for a range of channels as well as experience editing and proofreading copy.
