Combine your passion for Indigenous culture and research, with your desire to help people and support staff and student success in the completion of Indigenous postgraduate studies and research projects.

This is a high-level administrative support role within a collaborative team environment.

You will be responsible for the provision of quality support to our Higher Degree Research students and supervisors throughout their candidature – from attraction, admission, and milestone management to examination and graduation. You will also work with academic and professional staff, key partners, and stakeholders to provide administrative support for research projects being undertaken by the research team.

In this role you will be responsible for but not limited to:

Being the primary point of contact for Wollotuka Higher Degree Research.
Providing proactive advice and exceptional administrative support and service to Higher Degree Research students in relation to their candidature.
Providing high quality administrative support to academic staff on a range of research projects and undertakings.
Supporting stakeholder engagement and communication through social media content creation and management, as well as event development, planning and coordination.
Showing commitment to the development of strong organisational and professional knowledge, as well as embracing new technologies and processes
Identifying initiatives and making recommendations to support research success.

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $82,707 FTE plus 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
A relevant degree and subsequent experience in an administrative or project support role; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in an administrative field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated experience in communicating effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and knowledge and understanding of the successes and issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines with a demonstrated ability to be proactive and apply initiative.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an interdisciplinary way of working.
High level administrative and financial skills and proven successful experience in the preparation of reports.
Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of records, interpretation of policies and implementation of guidelines
Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture
Desirable Criteria

Knowledge of university systems and processes, and experience providing support in a research-intensive environment will also be highly regarded.

A letter signed by an executive of an incorporated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander organisation, who has the authority to administer confirmation of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Islander status, on the organisations letterhead that they are accepted as such by the community in which they live or have lived.
