- Level B Academic, $102,961 – $122,155 p.a., plus up to 17% employer superannuation
- Part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed-term appointment until the end of June 2023
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a high-achieving, innovative, and resourceful academic to join UniSC’s School of Health on the Sunshine Coast. You will contribute to the effective delivery of innovative high-quality learning and teaching practises, and join a dedicated and enthusiastic academic team, supporting our students to become successful and job ready public health graduates. Teaching areas will include epidemiology, health promotion and/or environmental health.
As a team member of UniSC’s newly integrated School of Health, you will establish and maintain key health partnerships to support and grow our work integrated learning footprint. With opportunities across multiple disciplines, your research will complement the School’s research agenda addressing contemporary health priorities.

You will
- Contribute to learning and teaching practices within the epidemiology, health promotion and/or environmental health disciplines;
- Undertake high-impact research;
- Supervise honours students and HDR candidates;
- Play a part in successful research grant applications; and
Contribute to governance, coordination of and participation in the school capacity-building activities, and activities that contribute to the student experience.

About you
You contribute to a positive and engaging academic environment, enabling excellence for both staff and students. Your well-developed interpersonal skills and exceptional written and verbal communication enable you to successfully deliver a superior student experience to a diverse student cohort. You collaborate cohesively and share your expertise to contribute to the ongoing success of the school’s teaching and research outcomes.
You will possess:
- Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
- Proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
- Sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position;
- Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups;
- Evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic; and
Experience undertaking academic administrative functions (e.g., course coordination, within a University) is desirable.
